Clémentine Deliss

Clémentine Deliss is and independent curator, publisher and researcher. She is currently Curator of the Dilijan Art Initiative, IDeA Foundation, Armenia, and recently curated the Dilijan Arts Observatory 2016. She studied contemporary art and anthropology in Vienna, Paris and London and holds a PhD from the University of London on dissident Surrealism and experimental French anthropology. Between 2010 and 2015, she directed the Weltkulturen Museum in Frankfurt and from 2002 to 2009 ran the interdisciplinary research lab Future Academy with student cells in London, Edinburgh, Dakar, Mumbai, Bangalore, Melbourne, Tokyo and Yamaguchi. She was the publisher of the itinerant artists’ and writers’ periodical Metronome (1996-2007), which was presented at numerous museums and events including documenta X and documenta 12. She has held guest professorships at the Städelschule in Frankfurt and the Academy of Fine Arts in Oslo, and was Reader in Fine Art at Edinburgh College of Art. She has been a consultant for the European Union and is a member of Theatrum Mundi, the urban lab directed by Richard Sennett. She is on the board of the Scientific Council of the Musée du quai Branly in Paris. She lives in Berlin.
