Cringe Care ist der erste und letzte Abend in einer Reihe von Veranstaltungen, die sich mit der Politik des Fremdschämens befassen. Cringe Care bietet eine umarmende Plattform des genussvollen Unbehagens und der verletzlichen Lächerlichkeit. Cringe Care ist eine Open-Mic-Night und bietet euch eine Plattform, eure Angst zu überwinden und die Bühne mit allem zu bespielen, was euch bisher zu peinlich war. Cringe Care verlangt ein verantwortungsvolles Publikum, das bereit ist, seinen Widerstand gegen das Unprofessionelle, das Unverständliche oder das Peinliche zu hinterfragen und sich dem kritischen Potenzial der Scham-Solidarität zu öffnen.

Dies ist ein Aufruf an alle – naive Expert:innen und versierte Lai:innen – die das klammheimliche Bedürfnis haben eine Nummer zu zeigen, aber Scheu vor einem urteilenden Publikum oder professionalisierten Standards haben. Amateur:nnen, Dissident:innen, Avant-Gardist:innen: zeigt uns wie, und wofür euer Herz dann doch auch noch schlägt. Wir suchen Qualität ausserhalb der Virtuosität. Jegliche Formate sind willkommen: Wir stellen eine Bühne und ein Mikrofon, alles Andere kommt von euch. Kontaktiert uns bitte mit einer kurzen Beschreibung eurer Idee → Kontakt. Im Rahmen der Ausstellung Niko Pirosmani in der Fondation Beyeler (bis 28. Januar 2024). Das Museum bleibt im Rahmen von Friday Beyeler jeweils bis 21 Uhr geöffnet.

Cringe Care is the first and possibly last evening in a series of events focusing on the politics of cringe. Cringe Careoffers an embracing platform of joyful discomfort and exhilerating vulnerability for all who commit to the naivety of facing shame and pleasure together outside of quality controlled virtuosity. Cringe Care takes the format of an open-mic night and offers a platform to Amateurs, dissidents and avanguardists who are ready to overcome fear and shamelessly take the stage in a form they have previously been too shy to share. It also offers an active audience-experience to those who would like to challenge their resistance to the unprofessional, the unintelligible or the painfully vulnerable and are willing to open up to the critical potential of shame-solidarity and the transformative power of suspended judgement and the acknowledgement of brilliance within the ungaugable.

If you would like to perform, dance, sing, play, recite please contact us with a brief description of your act → contact. A stage, a mic and a sound system are at your disposal. Alternatively, you can turn up earlier to share your proposal with our host Sophie Jung (details coming soon).
