MIRAGE MIRAGE

Inka te Haar and Ambra Viviani took over the TANK for an evening, reflecting collectively on the hard markers of Modern Western construction of a state’s territory: borders! MIRAGE MIRAGE is an interplay of different artistic languages taking the space of the TANK in a peculiar manner. Even the title mirrors a song, Voyage Voyage, as an ironic play with the idea of traveling as the embodiment of the dream of discovery and freedom. What if we move from a space of “places” to spaces of flows? What if we rejected the way the Western perspective thinks and represents territory?

The Students’ Kingdom is the name given to the TANK when students claim it as an experimentation place, a laboratory for their practice in order to present and challenge their work in an open space as well as to foster a dialogue with the public.
