Rosanna Monteleone
Secretariat, student administration
Rosanna Monteleone studied Fine Arts (Bachelor of Arts and Master of Fine Arts) at the Academy of Art and Design in Basel. She has a commercial education and worked for several years in the travel industry and in the administration of the Zurich University of the Arts. In her artistic practice, reading, observing and interpreting are essential tools that help her conceive her work. She is interested in the processes of association and recontextualization – both found and self-produced elements. Her spatial ensembles are about the tension between the familiar and the unfamiliar. Derived from an interest in how different groups of people can live together in a city, it is a transformational need for her to understand how elements and materials exist and relate to each other. Her compositions usually follow intuitive impulses inspired by metaphors, shapes, colors, surfaces and textures. Things are meant to murmur.
