Emily Harries lives in Basel. She studied English literature and Cultural Anthropology (BA) at the University of Basel and did her Master’s Degree in Arts and Culture Management at King’s College London with a focus on cultural institutions.

Emily Harries worked for the Vitra Design Museum as an event manager, assistant to the director and COO, and took care of the museum’s members. She organized talks, dinners, and the openings for multiple exhibitions while doing the project management of the exhibition Memphis. 40 Jahre Kitsch und Eleganz in the Vitra Design Museum Gallery (2021 – 2022). She later joined the Culturescapes team as a festival manager for Culturescapes 2023 Sahara, a multidisciplinary festival taking place across Switzerland.

Next to her work for the Institute Art Gender Nature HGK Basel FHNW, she was responsible for the communication for the Theaterfestival Basel 2024. Her experiences are transdisciplinary, from administrative work to organizing events, mediation, fundraising, and communication. Her focus and interest lie within cultural disciplines that bring the public.
