Mayte Gómez Molina (born in Madrid) is a researcher, new media artist and writer whose practice is based in writing, 3D animation, VR, and digital cinema. Through these tools, she explores themes such as the body as a political subject, perception as a social agreement, and visibility and invisibility as survival and identity building tools. Her last poetry book, Los Trabajos sin Hercules (2022) was awarded with the National Prize for Young Poetry of Spain. She holds an MFA in Film, Video, New Media and Animation from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and worked as a researcher and technical artist at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. In addition to joining the team of the Institute Art Gender Nature HGK Basel FHNW as a lecturer, she is a part of the MAKE/SENSE PhD Programme at Basel Academy of Art and Design FHNW.
