Originally from Pforzheim, Germany, Thomas Lempertz studied at the John Cranko Academy and is a former soloist with the Stuttgart Ballet. Lempertz is currently a practising artist and costume designer, who also teaches art and movement workshops, and is a guest lecturer at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart in a laboratory for Dance, Choreography, and Movement. Constantly swivelling between dance, art, and costumes, Lempertz is at present working on costumes for a new creation for the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, and his upcoming solo exhibition at Galerie Kernweine Stuttgart.
