Im Rahmen des Virtual Open House der Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst FHNW laden wir herzlich zum Blick hinter die Kulissen des Institut Kunst, zu einem Special für Studieninteressierte und zum Entdecken unserer digitalen Projekte ein.
Info-Slots für Studieninteressierte um 17.00 und 18.30 (Bachelor-Studiengang) sowie um 18.00 (Master-Studiengang) via Zoom geben vertiefte Informationen zum Studium, unseren Schwerpunkten und Programmen, zeigen einen Videostreifzug durch die Ateliers und Werkstätten des Institut Kunst und bieten die Möglichkeit, Fragen an unser Team zu stellen. Der Moment des gegenseitigen Kennenlernens ist ein besonderer, denn es ist ein Suchen auf beiden Seiten: junge Kunstschaffende auf der Suche nach dem richtigen Kontext und wir auf der Suche nach denjenigen, die unseren Familienverband vergrössern könnten. In diesem Jahr sagen wir «art is kinship» (Kunst ist Wahlverwandtschaft), weil wir betonen möchten, dass die Wahl einer Kunsthochschule nicht nur auf Ideen basieren sollte, sondern auch auf den grundlegenden Werten, die an diesem Ort gelebt werden.
Darüber hinaus zeigen wir am Virtual Open House mit der Videodokumentation von Live, Love, Justice im Kunsthaus Baselland einen Rückblick auf unsere letztjährige Diplomausstellung, die unter besonderen Umständen realisiert wurde. Unsere digitalen Projekte wie die Videoplattform Corona Kino sowie unsere Podcastserien Phenomenal Ocean. Corona Under the Ocean und Promise No Promises! Feminsm Under Corona, die den Einfluss der Covid-19-Pandemie auf die Ozeane beziehungsweise die gesellschaftlichen Auswirkungen hinsichtlich Gender erkunden, greifen über aktuelle Geschehnisse hinaus zentrale Themen unseres Curriculums auf. Schliesslich bieten Videodokumentationen der öffentlichen Veranstaltungsreihe Art Taaalkssss einen Einblick in die künstlerische Praxis von internationalen Gästen, während Ausstellungsansichten vom TANK, dem Ausstellungsraum des Institut Kunst auf dem Campus der Künste, jüngste Ausstellungsprojekte zeigen.

Virtual Open House

On the occasion of the Virtual Open House of the FHNW Academy of Art and Design, we cordially invite you to take a look behind the scenes of the Art Institute, to a special for prospective students and to discover our digital projects.
Info slots for prospective students at 5 pm and 6.30 pm (bachelor’s program) and at 6 pm (master’s program) via Zoom will provide in-depth information on the studies, our activities and key topics, present a video tour through the studios and workshops of the Art Institute and offer the opportunity to ask our team questions. The moment of getting to know each other is very special because it implies a search on both sides: young artists looking for the right context and we looking for those that could enlarge our family. This year we say “art is kinship” because we want to stress that the choice of an art school should not be based solely on ideas, but also on the fundamental values that are lived in the place.
In addition, we will present at the Virtual Open House a video documentation of Live, Love, Justice at Kunsthaus Baselland, our last year’s graduation exhibition, which was realized under rather unusual circumstances. Our digital projects such as the video platform Corona Kino and our podcast series Phenomenal Ocean. Corona Under the Ocean and Promise No Promises! Feminsm Under Corona, which explore the impact of Covid-19 on the oceans and the social effects in terms of gender, respectively, follow—beyond current events—key topics of our curriculum. Selected video documentations of the public discursive series Art Taaalkssss offer an insight into the artistic practice of international guests, while exhibition views of der TANK, the exhibition space of the Art Institute on the Campus of the Arts, show recent exhibition projects.
