Assistance painting studio
Inka ter Haar first studied social sciences with a focus on sociology at the University of Duisburg-Essen. This was followed by studies in fine arts at the FADBK/HGK Essen (diploma, master’s student) and at the Art Institute HGK FHNW (master). Since 2018 she has been an assistant in the painting studio of the Institute Art Gender Nature and worked until 2021 in BüroBasel, a project space of the Waldburger-Wouters and Schanghart galleries.
The analysis of social developments and the connection to her own biography form the starting point for Inka ter Haar’s large-scale paintings and installations.
Inka ter Haar’s work was awarded the Werkbeitrag in 2019. 2019 and 2021 she was nominated for the Swiss Art Awards. In recent years, her work has been shown in solo exhibitions at Kunsthaus Langenthal and in group exhibitions in Switzerland, Austria and Germany, among other places.
