Seit 2003 bietet ACT, das Performance Festival der Schweizer Kunsthochschulen, Studierenden eine Plattform, um Performances und performative Projekte zu realisieren. Nach dem 20-jährigen Jubiläum in Biel/Bienne im Frühling 2022, macht das Festival 2024 erneut – wie in den Jahren davor – in verschiedenen Städten der Schweiz Halt. Als offenes Laboratorium zur Erprobung performativer künstlerischer Strategien angelegt, ist die mit der Live-Situation einhergehende Dynamik zwischen den Performances, den Performenden und dem Publikum von zentraler Bedeutung für ACT. Im Zentrum stehen denn auch das Prozesshafte und der Austausch der Studierenden untereinander und mit dem Publikum.

ACT Basel findet in diesem Jahr im L’avventura statt, einer Zwischennutzung im neunten Stock des ehemaligen Postgebäudes, das sich in unmittelbarer Nähe vom Hauptbahnhof Basel befindet.

Since 2003, the ACT Performance Festival of Swiss Art Academies has offered students a platform to realize performances and performative projects. After its 20th anniversary edition in spring 2022 in Biel/Bienne, the festival will once again stop in various cities in Switzerland this year—as it did before and afterwards. Conceived as an open laboratory for testing performative artistic strategies, the dynamic between performances, performers and the audience that accompanies the live situation is of central importance to ACT. The focus is on the process and the exchange between the students and the audience.

This year, ACT Basel will take place at L’avventura, an interim use location on the ninth floor of the former post building at close distance to Basel’s main station.
