The last year at the Institute Art Gender Nature has been characterized by a great variety of intangible exchanges and discourse on the making of artworks.

To study art means, among other things, to expose oneself to a profound experience of freedom. It also means finding one's own artistic language for the changing view of the world. This individual process is at the same time a collective one, which finds its discourse in the Bachelor's program of the Institute Art Gender Nature and especially in the Forum Kunst.

The Forum Kunst is accompanied by artists and theoreticians in three inter-year groups. In this context, it is also about negotiations and collaborations with a great network of creative friends and the search for future collaborations. The exhibition BASIS 2022 is an attempt to create an inspiring and ephemeral atmosphere for this exchange.

Now, at the end of the spring semester, the first and second year Bachelor students are taking up the challenge of presenting their artwork to other students and the public but also discussing it with an external jury. The exhibition is curated by lecturers. Their concern is to find, together with the students, an adequate presentation of their work, a place of encounter, a meeting point for different perspectives and a coherent interplay within the group exhibition.

The BASIS 2022 exhibition aims to create a space for experiencing art and is conceived as a hub for inspiration and ideas. It represents an important moment for students in the early stages of their artistic development. We are especially happy to share this moment with an external audience.
