Laurence Favre is an artist, filmmaker, and researcher whose interdisciplinary practice brings together experimental cinema, installation, sound, and critical theory. Her work investigates the politics of perception and the ways images participate in the production and erasure of knowledge. Through spectral visual languages, archival fragments, and material experimentation, she explores how histories persist through traces, absences, and unresolved temporalities. Favre’s research engages particularly with forms of epistemic violence embedded in colonial archives, scientific classifications, and dominant regimes of representation. Developing the concept of Expanded Spectropoetics, she examines how artistic practice can destabilize extractive and anthropocentric ways of seeing by foregrounding opacity, fragility, and non-human forms of memory.  
 
Favre’s work has been presented internationally at the Locarno Film Festival, International Film Festival Rotterdam, Berlin International Film Festival, Visions du Réel, as well as at Silent Green in Berlin, Tabakalera in San Sebastian, and CAN Neuchâtel, among others. She is an active member of the artist-run filmlab LaborBerlin and regularly contributes to collaborative projects dedicated to Expanded Cinematic Arts.
