Lena Maria Thüring is an artist whose work explores the intersection of nature, gender, and socio-political structures. Working across video, sound, photography, ceramics, performance, and installation, she examines language, memory, and systems of representation. She studied photography (2007) and earned an MA in Fine Arts at ZHdK (2014). Thüring is a lecturer at the Institute Art Gender Nature HGK Basel FHNW since 2014, and co-founded the production company ROSA WOLF in 2020. Her works have been shown at Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, Denmark; Centre culturel suisse, Paris; Kunsthaus Baselland; Haus Konstruktiv, Zurich; Kunstmuseum Basel; and La Tallera Museum, Cuernavaca, Mexico, among others. She has received numerous awards, including the Swiss Art Award (2012), the Manor Art Prize Basel (2013), the City of Zurich Work Grant in Visual Arts (2019), and a work grant from the Landis & Gyr Foundation (2022).
