Nadja Solari

Lecturer bachelor and master
Forum Kunst, artistic mentoring

Nadja Solari, based in Basel, studied Fine Arts at the Institute Art Gender Nature HGK Basel FHNW (Bachelor) and at the Zurich University of the Arts ZHdK (Master). She reinterprets the contradictions of a consumer society into a fragmented and fragile abstraction of the everyday. Her installations are often processual and combine the humorous with the contradictory, creating thought-provoking dialogues between materiality and concept. Her work has been shown in numerous group and solo exhibitions such as Kunsthaus Baselland, Videofestival Szczecin, Townhouse Gallery Cairo, Tokyo Wonder Site, Platoon Seoul, Container Tokyo, the Nakanojo Biennale and the Swiss Art Awards. She has also received grants such as the Kunstkredit Basel-Stadt and studio residencies including the GCC Foundation Gyeonggi, South Korea, Atelier Mondial Tokyo and Rotterdam, and the Pro Helvetia Residency Cairo. Nadja Solari’s works are included in collections such as the Cantonal Basel Art Collection and the Swiss Federal Art Collection.
