Phoenix Atala
Visiting Professor master
Plenum, artistic mentoring, seminar
Phoenix Atala is a trans, transversal, transdisciplinary Moroccan French artist, invested in decolonial and queer practices, and speculative and transformative futures. He explores, chops down, wrongs up cinema, performance, speech, Hip Hop, DJing and so on. Atala tends to work collectively and collaboratively.
Following residencies at Laboratoires d’Aubervilliers, Palais de Tokyo and La Becque, Phoenix Atala is unfolding Critical Failure, a meta-oriented SF film-conversation; Queer Time, an autotuned spiral vocal performance; and فيلم ف العرايش, a speculative scenario through North African temporality. Currently he is guest professor at the Institute Art Gender Nature HGK Basel FHNW, where he is conducting pedagogical experiments on queer temporality, collaborative work and decentralized spaces.
