Während mehreren Monaten hat Astrit Ismaili eine Gruppe von Masterstudierenden in Seminaren am Institut Kunst Gender Natur HGK Basel FHNW angeleitet, eine neue Performance zu entwickeln, die das transformative und performative Potenzial von Körpern und Räumen aus einer queeren Perspektive untersucht. Gemeinsam recherchierten sie historische, persönliche und fiktionale Themen, welche mittels Kreativität gewisse Beschränkungen überwinden – seien es physiologische, soziale, geopolitische oder andere. Im Rahmen von Mythic Beings, dem von Elise Lammer kuratierten Performanceprogramm der Liste Art Fair Basel, werden zum ersten Mal Fragmente von Ergebnissen aus Astrit Ismailis Seminaren öffentlich präsentiert.

Over the course of several months, Astrit Ismaili has been guiding a cohort of master’s students in seminars at the Institute Art Gender Nature HGK Basel FHNW to develop a new performance exploring the transformational and performative potential of bodies and spaces through a queer lens. Together they researched historical, personal and fictional subjects that, through creativity, overcome certain limitations—whether physiological, social, geopolitical, or other. For the first time, fragments of outcomes from Ismaili’s seminars will be presented to the public as part of Mythic Beings, Liste Art Fair Basel’s performance program curated by Elise Lammer.
