Onome Ekeh, from the series Brutalist Discothèque, 2022

Onome Ekeh is a writer and designer of speculative fictions, born and raised on both sides of the Atlantic. She is drawn to compression moments in culture such as the Black Diaspora, post-colonial overrides, and emergence(s) spawned by digital technology. She investigates dominant cultural constructs and means of reimagining and / or rearranging them. Using recent digital works, for Art Taaalkssss Onome Ekeh talks about how AI can become an indelible node in the toolkit for critical thinking and speculative narratives.

Onome Ekeh has produced works spanning film, video, theater, literature, and radio, and is the recipient of several fellowships including the Jerome Foundation, Greenwall Foundation, Turbulence Media Award, and a Künstlerhaus Büchsenhausen Fellowship.

Since 2022 she is lecturer at the Institute Art Gender Nature HGK FHNW in Basel.
