Till Langschied (born in Frankfurt a.M., lives and works in Basel) is a visual artist, curator and GIF-enthusiast who works in a variety of media. His artistic practice focuses on how our mostly digitized reality leaves traces on human bodies and minds. Fascinated with the relationship between humans and the technology they invent, build, and use, he has been focusing on the emotional resonances radiating from the so-called tech-society. In times when everything seems hyperconnected, Langschied traces the origin of a common feeling of disconnectedness somewhere between the attention economy and self-care apps.
In 2019 Till Langschied graduated with a BA from the Institute Art Gender Nature HGK Basel FHNW. Since 2021, he has worked as a curator for DOCK art space in Basel. Additionally, he is part of the ∑ SUMME collective that represents Basel’s off-spaces. He is also the founder of Pleasure Zone, an art space in an erotic shop in Basel.
Till Langschied works have been exhibited broadly, including at Kunsthaus Langenthal (2023); Kunsthalle Osnabrück (2023); Fondation Beyeler, Riehen/Basel (2022); Museum Tinguely, Basel (2022); Centre Culturel Suisse, Paris (2021); Kunstraum Niederösterreich, Vienna (2020); HEK (House of Electronic Arts), Basel ( 2019); among other.
