In rural Tanzania, Elia Leton (TZ) and Tatjana Erpen visited three constructors of flying objects. With technical know-how, the tinkerers are building their future. The motivation behind their ambitious design projects is not only to overcome gravity, but also to position themselves socially. The work „High Class Things“ questions how the space of the possible can be opened up anew to create an idea of the future. Personal visions meet realities of life, green screens are suspended and the visionary flying objects are set free from their surroundings. Between inner desire, external circumstances and self-constructed status symbol, daring counter-designs to the design paradigm „form follows function“ are created.
